Hassan Usman poly to commence HND in four fields

Hassan Usman Polytechnic Katsina, is to commence awarding Higher National Diploma in four different programmes, Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Kabir Ibrahim Matazu has revealed.Dr. Matazu told newsmen on Monday that the five programmes include crops production, electrical Engineering, mechanical engineering and architecture.He explained that the polytechnic is making effort to proved necessary facilities for the take-off of the five programmes next year.Dr. Matazu said already, a team from NBTE has visited the polytechnic and inspected facilities for the programmes, adding the management of the polytechnic had commenced construction of laboratories workshops.The Rector further explains, that the polytechnic is planning to introduce National Diploma in Fisheries and irrigation.He said the two programmes are very significant to the survival of people of the grassroots as well as improve economic activities in Katsina.Dr Kadir further said the polytechnic had introduced remedial studies for students who failed their examination, saying students that acquired the minimum credit would be given admission by the polytechnic.He explained that the move is part of the effort to minimise the large number of students that don’t have the required credit to enrol into Higher Institutions.Dr. Matazu commended the effort of Katsina state government for its financial support to the polytechnic
