Naija Elections over, whats next...

The much awaited April Election is over, and we have witnessed alot of changes, Seats have been lost while others were re-won. PDP retains majority in the House of Reps and Senate. I heard rumours that PDP will be zoning the Speaker's seat to the south east, Senate President's seat zoned to North Central or North East. There  would be a stiff competition in the Senate President's seat with incumbent David mark wanting to retain his seat, His Deputy also is interested, Newly elected former Governors Danjuma Goje and Bukola Saraki, Smart Adeyemi are all in for the contest of the senate president's seat. The three aspirants for the post of speaker are the current Chief Whip, Emeka Ihedioha; the former Chief Whip, Bethel Amadi and Muraina Suabana Ajibola. We will know who gets the seat when the PDP meets to zone the two seats. Until then, what can u say about the conduct of the April election?

Evaluate to Motivate...

Image
My Club's president Tony Sabastian conducted an Evaluation session during the last meeting I attended and thought I share with you all the notes I took down during the session. To be a good evaluator, Listening is important, there are myths about evaluation that we tend to overlook; some of them are: the speaker is more advanced than me my job is to tell the speaker what he did right or wrong sandwich technique (Good, Bad and Concluding with Good) Because the role of evaluator in Toastmasters is misunderstood, the evaluator is to: give the speaker feedback in regards the speakers speech tell the speaker what went well and suggest how he improve the effectiveness of the speech (Present ideas to him) if part of the speech is good and another is bad, it demoralizes the speaker, however, you can tell him what is good and what could make the speech better is more inspiring. Another thing Toastmasters forget is the use of its motto in eveluation ("Better Lietening, Better ...
