Eid-el-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and the Begining of Shawwal, in the month of Shawwal, muslims are encouraged to do 6 fastings as a sign of devotion to Islam, and also to strengthens one's faith. I will insha Allah do it this year. The first day of this month (Shawwal), its Sallah in Nigeria, Hari raya in Malaysia, Iyi Bayram in Turkey and has lots more names in other parts of the world. This year, i was caught up in the middle, first after eid, i had a chat with a friend and he sent me something better than any barka da sallah gift, it was an email that can be a defining moment in someone's life (Cisco Connected Real Estate CCRE)I read it and became more interested in my field, IT and Security. Later that evening, the time to really feel the day came when the aroma of Miyan Taushe woke up from sleep, what a way of waking up from sleep, it was really nice after easting that tuwo, and after that, we began to watch football matches to synchronise with the day, I think the ga...

As GLO1 Lands in Lagos, what effect will it have on the NIgerian Graduates?

Image
Few days after Internet celebrated its 40th Birthday, Globacom Nigeria Limited has finally pulled its Submarine cable that traveled all the way from UK. Is it time for Nigerian to say Bye-bye to Low Internet connectivity, High tariff on local and International calls? that was the question I ask a friend of mine while he was reading the news on Thisday online Newspaper . I hope this new thing that just happened to the Nigerian ICT sector is a sign of Job offer to our ICT graduates. Its time for them to experience what their colleagues from other parts of the world are telling them about, its time for us to stream youtube videos without waiting for buffering, its time our universities become fully online, have full services that will enable our university students to benefit from it. I want to pay my sincere thanks to the company for a job well done.

20 Hours a Week Security Class

Image
The semester has started with a block lecture (the whole course covered in a week 4 hours daily), the courses are taught by Associate professor Dr. yi Mu from University Of Wollongong, Australia. Dr. Yi Mu is one of the finest Men i have seen in his filed (Security), I will rate him thesame with the like of Adi Shamir, Ron Rivest, Diffie-Hellman etc. He is teaching us CSCI361 - Cryptography and CSCI368 - Network Security. The assignment and tutorials were all given by him to aid us in learning the concept of Computer Security. I will always remember him for the jokes and his life scenarios he do give to aid understanding in the class. The best thing i learnt from him is not Cryptography, its how to study, he said, "Take down notes during lectures, read again and summerise it based on what you understand, if you have problem, ask questions". that is one of the best advices i have ever gotten in life. Ramadan is coming to an end, We have reached the 17th day, Prayers are be...
