Recovering from teh Convention and the Ekiti Election!

Its over a week now since the convention was adjourned, but I never stopped talking about it, because as a first times, I met alot of Experienced speakers and Leaders who have excelled in their relevant fields. My Exams finished two weeks ago and I got a book (The seven Habits of Effective People to Keep me Company). Its one of those books that everyone is suppose to read in his life because it talks about how you can become a better person Socially and Spiritually. I recommend it to everyone especially Business Executives. I am a Follower of Sam Nda's Column on Monday and he wrote on this topics "Beyond Oil", he compared Nigeria with Countries we got Independence almost same year and are far ahead of Us, Singapore is the one that draws a lot of Comparison, while reading the article, I remembered a book written by their former Prime Minister (From third World to First), I just thought I should recommend the book to any public servant in Nigeria to use it as his leadership

TOASTMASTERS INTERNATIONAL IS BUILDING BRIDGES Thanks to the Toastmasters International District 51 Convention with held on 17-19th April, 2009. I had the opportunity to meet the man that changed Malaysian Airlines in 2 years, over turning its loss of RM1.3billion (USD 700mil), Dato' Idris Jala, He was the keynote speaker at the Event, I listened to a Million Dollar lecture from him on the '6 Secrets of Business Transformations', from there, I began to think that I can manage any company with what he shared with us that night, Idris Jala is an enthusiastic, dynamic and revolutionary leader who is a role model to all, if you live by his principles, i think no business will collapse. Dato' seri Idris Jala, Sadiqsafana and Datuk Seri Aloysious Dris One thing I like about TOASTMASTERS is that, it brings people together, I met people from all walks of life, it was an honor to meet them and share our life experiences especially about where I came fr

Yar’Adua’s govt is protecting corrupt ex-governors - El-Rufai

Image
Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nasir el-Rufai has been having running battles with agencies of the current administration, especially the Economic and financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which declared him wanted recently. In this interview conducted by TAIWO ADISA via the electronic mail, the former Minister declares that the current government is persecuting him for political reasons. He responds to other national issues. Excerpts: After a decade of public service, you have returned to school for postgraduate studies in public policy. Should that be taken as indication that you intend to return to public office soon? No, no. What I am studying is no indicator of my future plans. Going to school and learning new things has been my favorite preoccupation. However, since 1998 when I found myself in public service (advising General Abdulsalami Abubakar), my personal life and academic aspirations had been put on hold. I had no time to complete my law degree with t

Is Nigeria's Democracy Commercialized???

I use to wonder why the use of Money has become very synonymous with Democracy, but in Nigeria, the case is true, anywhere you go to campaign, if you dont give out money, forget it, even your posters will not be seen because no one will paste it around for other people to see and begin to think about voting you, the Question that is still unsolved is when did it start and How??? If that can be answered, then who started it? Who wanted to bury Lincoln famous saying that became a real definition of Democracy. The Headlines of major Nigerian Newspapers is talking about a merger between AC and ANPP, still the same old players of the game are the one playing it now, I asked a friend of mine that Dont they think that the world has shifted beneath us and we are left behind, Nigerian democracy needs an urgent change, we the youths need to grow up and have a rethink that the future of the country lies on our hands, whenever we wake up and every morning, we should ask ourselves that what have we
