KATSINA state is seriously lagging behind in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in spite of the establishment of computer centres in 30 selected secondary schools by the government.The observation was contained in a report submitted to the government by the state Development Summit Committee.It noted that in spite of government’s decision to establish computer centres in 30 selected secondary schools and tertiary institutions, the usage and awareness of ICT is very low.The report said while some states have already forged ahead in computer knowledge acquisition, the state is still far behind.It recommended that adequate ICT infrastructure be provided for use by public institutions.It also suggested that computer skills acquisition be introduced in all public schools, adding that 10 per cent of primary and 20 per cent of secondary schools should be targeted annually.The report recommended that all tertiary institutions should have comprehensive computer facilities, and calle
